Throughout the day seminars will be running on specific parenting subjects.   Each seminar will be led by an expert in their field and will be followed by a question and answer session. These experts will also be available during the day at their stand to answer any questions for those who require more privacy.

The seminar will inform you on the sperm donor process in the U.K., the future of sperm donation in the U.K. and what this will mean for women wishing to conceive using donor sperm.  How to become a sperm donor, including screening tests, donor anonymity and the legal implications for the donor and those using donor sperm from a registered clinic.

DIFFERENT FAMILIES: CHILDREN WITH GAY PARENTS AND SCHOOLS
presented by Ruth Hunt, Deputy Director of Public Affairs at Stonewall
Stonewall will present the findings of their groundbreaking research Different Families which explores the experiences of children with gay parents. The seminar will highlight the steps that schools are taking to include children with gay parents and what questions you should be asking when choosing a school. Stonewall’s pioneering Education for All campaign works with government, local authorities and schools to help them prevent and respond to homophobic bullying and ensure that all young people can fulfill their potential. This seminar will give you the resources you need to do the same with your local schools.

Anna Whowell of Littlepink will host an interactive session on the importance of being part of a supportive community for alternative families.  The session will be interactive with input from founders of other alternative family social networks inputting their experiences on conception, adoption, education and social life of an alternative family.
