Surrogacy and IVF for same sex couples and singles

This seminar will explore the use of IVF in surrogacy and the methods used to get your surrogate pregnant. It will cover a technical overview of creating embryos and explain the differences between embryos and blastocyst. It will also highlight the areas that the agency and IVF clinic work together in and how everything is brought together from finding a surrogate and egg donor, to getting a successful pregnancy. The seminar will also highlight the costs of the procedures and will conclude with questions and answers.

Along with a fellow student (Dr. Darder) from Columbia University, Dr. Treiser set out to create her own practice in Somerset, New Jersey. Founded in 1990, their goal was to create an infertility practice that combined the best of big-city medicine with the personalized care of a private setting. Today, IVF New Jersey is one of the largest and most successful facilities in the United States and it continues to be at the forefront of in vitro fertilization and egg donor/donation technology, offering the latest in reproductive care a warm and compassionate environment. Dr. Treiser is a very well respected and spoken professional in her field and was recently a guest on The Today Show with host Anne Curry, on the topic of overcoming infertility.
Tony Drewitt-Barlow
Tony Drewitt-Barlow B.Sc. (Hons), PhD – Head of Public Relations and Promotions
Tony has been involved in surrogacy since the late 90`s. He has always been interested in helping others become parents through egg donation and surrogacy and has joined BSC to promote the effectiveness of surrogacy to help anyone complete their family. Tony has been a highly public figure over the past 12 years in Newspapers and Magazines, on the TV and radio stations and he is committed 100% to the BSC. Tony’s role is to be part of the face of the centre and contribute to the promotion of the centre by holding seminars on same sex parenting, on surrogacy and conducting interviews with the world’s media.
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow
Barrie Drewitt-Barlow DipSW, CertHE. - Head of Social Work
Barrie has worked as a clinical social worker since the mid 90`s. He has been involved in surrogacy since 1994 when he travelled to Beverly Hills for a meeting with an agency there to talk about having children with his partner Tony. Since that first meeting in 1996, Barrie has gone on to have 5 children through surrogacy and has helped over 35 couples and singles to have children of their own and countless many others with advice and recommendations over those years.
Barrie and his partner were the first same sex couple in England to use a surrogate mother and to be recognised on the birth certificate of those children, as parent 1 and parent 2. Over the past 14 years Barrie has been involved in many media shows to highlight surrogacy and same sex parenting and remains committed to “getting the word out” about the positive steps that can be taken through surrogacy for many people going through infertility issues regardless of age or sexuality.
