Celebrating difference - Different families in schools

Stonewall will discuss their work with schools on how to include the many different types of families in their teaching. It will cover the many resources Stonewall have developed and how parents can get them into their child’s school.

Ruth Hunt

Ruth Hunt is Director of Public Affairs at Stonewall. Ruth leads Stonewall’s policy and research work including the publication of two plain-English parenting guides for lesbian, gay and bisexuals – Pregnant Pause and A Guide for Gay Dads. Ruth played a central role in securing new protections for same sex families under the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Act (2008) including the removal of the ‘need for a father’ restrictions on fertility clinics. Ruth was also instrumental in developing Stonewall’s on-going Education for All campaign including the publication of the Different Families report which showcased the voices of children of same sex families.
